Local Kombucha Brewery Opens Taproom Doors!
WILMINGTON, NC – Panacea Brewing Company, a local family owned kombucha business, has
opened their taproom doors at 102 Old Eastwood, Unit A5 after months of anticipation! The taproom is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-7pm and has eight active taps with staple and seasonal brews such as Peach Ginger Turmeric and Plum Chai Spice. Kombucha is a probiotic fermented tea that originated thousands of years ago and is increasing in popularity thanks to health enthusiasts and the mounting research on the importance of probiotics and gut health.
Robin and Art Hill launched Panacea Brewing Company in June of 2016 after 20 years of dabbling in fermentation, and focusing on kombucha for the last three. Knowing they wanted to share their delicious home brews with the community, the couple opened the first kombucha brewery in coastal North Carolina.
The family business is known for their Booch Bus, 1975 Volkswagen Westfalia with a custom built tap system. They began serving kombucha at the Port City Farmer’s Market hosted at Waterline Brewing Company on Tuesday evenings, and quickly joined other area farmers markets. The business prides themselves in their continued efforts to create and provide a sustainably processed product, constantly finding ways to improve their systems and decrease their carbon footprint.
In addition to the taproom and farmers markets, consumers can find the probiotic fermented tea around Wilmington at local restaurants, coffee shops and breweries, as well as small grocers who serve as refill stations for folks to fill up empty bottles. Check out their website,
